Battle of #BhimaKoregaon
Battle of #BhimaKoregaon.
Fact vs myths
The slant history writing of Marxist historians have defiled Indian History.
The Battle of Koregaon is still used by Leftists to spread their vicious propaganda.
It is of utmost importance that the lies associated with this are busted.
Myth 1: Battle of #BhimaKoregaon was fought between 500 Mahars and 28000 Peshwas.
First of all, there was only ‘1’ Peshwa.
Second, this battle was fought between the Maratha Empire and the British East India Company.
No.of troops:
British: 824 + Artillery
Marathas: 1800
Myth 2: The British won this war.
Battle of Bhima Koregaon was a Maratha Victory.
Mountstuart Elphinstone, a famous Scottish Historian, who visited the battlefield immediately after the battle, himself said this.
No official British record has called this battle a ‘victory’.
Even the inscription on the pillar at #BhimaKoregaon says that it was erected to commemorate the ‘defence of Corigaum’.
Then why was this confusion created? The answer to this is simple - to divide and rule.
A series of incidents along with this battle led to the unfortunate downfall of the #MarathaEmpire and the complete colonisation of India by the British.
#Chhatrapati Pratapsinh Maharaj and #Peshwa Bajirao II both were exiled to Benares and Bithoor respectively.
The British Rule in India was a period of darkness that lasted for 150 years. In these 150 years, millions died due to barbaric British policies.
The Battle of #BhimaKoregaon has been used by #Leftists to propagate the false victory of lower caste over upper caste Peshwa.
Did the Maratha Army only comprise of upper caste Brahmins? Definitely not.
Yet, in the name of caste annihilation, upper castes (Brahmins) are always portrayed in a negative manner.
